Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund - One Dollar at a Time!

Hurricane Katrina was a Category 5 hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico in late August of 2005. The hurricane struck New Orleans on August 29th as a Category 4, causing 1400 deaths and $125 billion in damages along the Gulf Coast. Katrina was a terrible hurricane and tragic for the residents of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

These shirt designs are not making light of the hurricane itself, nor of the losses that it caused. Thankfully New Orleans has completely recovered and is thriving.

I have sat on this design idea for years because I know it would not be in good taste to have fun with such devistation. But most recently, on the same day as the 16th anniversary that Hurricane Katrina made landfall, Hurricane Ida struck Louisiana and New Orleans in 2021. Ida caused the deaths of 33 people and at least $18 billion in damages. Ida was tragic as well.

With another hurricane hitting New Orleans, and it being over 16 years now since Katrina, I finally think that this shirt design won't be taken as bad taste, but as fun for visiting New Orleans and the French Quarter. Especially Bourbon Street. I hope that you agree and don't find this offensive.
